Prizes to Celebrate Participation in JPS 2026 in Laval
The 2026 Journées de la persévérance scolaire once again mobilized Laval’s communities around a shared objective: supporting the educational success of our youth.
Registrations remain open throughout the week, while orders are now closed. We would like to warmly thank all the schools and organizations that participated in activities and ordered materials as part of JPS. This collective mobilization once again demonstrates that student perseverance is a shared responsibility across the entire community.
To recognize this commitment, three partners have chosen to offer inspiring and educational experiences to be drawn among participating schools and organizations.
CANOPÉE – Growing Connections to Nature
CANOPÉE is offering two prizes valued at $300 each, allowing young people to enjoy an immersive experience in an urban forest setting.
These activities are designed for preschool, elementary, and secondary students, and for certain themes, CEGEP students as well.
CANOPÉE prizes will be drawn among schools and organizations registered for the nature-based activities in the JPS program.
First Prize
A mobile lending unit accompanied by a guided tour of Bois Papineau with a naturalist. This experience will allow students to discover local biodiversity, explore urban ecosystems, and strengthen their connection to nature through specialized facilitation.
Second Prize
An educational activity facilitated in a nearby urban forest, selected according to the group’s level and interests:
- One-day naturalist activity (elementary)
- Urban forest ecosystem workshop (elementary, secondary)
- Pollinator workshop (elementary, secondary)
- Well-being and nature connection activity (secondary and CEGEP)
- Urban forest rally at the Centre de la nature (elementary, secondary)
COSMODÔME – Inspiring Scientific Curiosity
The Cosmodôme is offering 20 GRAVITATION science kits for Grade 3–4 and Grade 5–6 classes. Each kit, valued at $250 + taxes, includes ready-to-use, hands-on educational activities that introduce students to space sciences through concrete, engaging experiments designed for groups of up to 30 students. These COSMO-GENIUS ready-to-use educational kits aim to:
- Stimulate scientific curiosity
- Encourage experimentation
- Develop observation, logic, and teamwork skills
Two kits will be awarded per winning school. Cosmodôme prizes will be drawn among elementary schools with a deprivation index between 7 and 10 that placed an order as part of JPS.
TROUVE TA RESSOURCE – Supporting Transition and Strengthening Youth Assets
Trouve ta ressource offers a workshop designed to help students recognize their strengths and discover the resources available in their community.
Through discussions and interactive activities, young people are invited to:
- Strengthen their sense of psychological safety, connection, and self-esteem
- Inform parents about topics that concern them and introduce students, parents, and teachers to local services and resources, including those offered by neighborhood youth centers
- Increase visibility, credibility, and trust between teachers and community organizations
This program helps reinforce young people’s sense of safety, belonging, and self-worth, while strengthening the connection between schools and community organizations. (Download description - French only)
The prize will be awarded by random draw among schools that participated in JPS and placed an order.
Draw Method
The draws for CANOPÉE, Cosmodôme, and Trouve ta ressource prizes will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026. Winning schools and organizations will be contacted directly by the RLPRE team and announced on our platforms.
Thank you to our committed partners.
These prizes reflect our partners’ concrete commitment to educational success in Laval. By offering enriching, scientific, and locally rooted experiences, they help extend the impact of JPS well beyond the official week.
Student perseverance is built every day—in schools, organizations, and community spaces—and through strong collaborations like these.
