Persevere and create your own path.

Persevere and create your own path.

We sometimes tend to imagine an educational journey as a straight, clearly defined path. But that overlooks a fundamental truth: everyone has their own definition of success and their own path to achieving it.

Persevering in your studies means giving yourself the opportunity to discover that path. It means forging your own way and, in doing so, discovering who you are. Struggling with a task, trying a different approach, making mistakes, changing your mind: all these twists and turns we choose to take teach us just as much as our successes do.

Who knows? The challenges we face today could become our greatest strengths tomorrow.

To find out, we need to keep moving forward.

To keep discovering our own unique ways of overcoming challenges.

And one of the most powerful ways to do that is by receiving support.

There are so many ways to offer encouragement

Sometimes, all it takes to overcome an obstacle is a helping hand. A word of encouragement. A gentle pat on the back.

Every gesture of support builds confidence and inspires the desire to keep moving forward.

  • Saying, “I’m proud of you”
  • Valuing progress, not just grades
  • Sharing your own journey, with all its detours, twists, and turns
  • Helping someone set short-term goals
  • Creating a climate where mistakes are learning opportunities
  • Presenting diverse models of resilience and perseverance
  • Being flexible with an employee’s work schedule during exam periods
  • Arranging for study time in the workplace

Beyond encouraging them to keep moving forward, these gestures help build a culture of perseverance where every young person and adult learner feels supported and encouraged as they discover their own path.
