Every student who stays in school and earns a diploma or qualification is one more young person who has broken the dropout cycle and is headed toward a brighter future.
Let’s help our young people stay motivated at school and keep supporting their efforts through the end of the school year to give them the best chance of achieving their potential.
Let’s use this week to create a wave of encouragement and motivation to carry them along.
Let’s show them we’re there for them!

Our actions, A + in their success
Each of our actions is a + for the school perseverance and educational success of our young people. Whatever their path or starting point, we all have a responsibility to support, guide, and encourage young people. Our efforts will help them persevere and succeed, and society as a whole will benefit over the long term.
We all have a role to play
HSD wants to remind provincial and municipal elected officials, organizations, employers, parents, and all stakeholders in the fields of education, health, and early childhood care that they are all indispensable and have a role to play in encouraging young people to persevere at school.
Take part in this collective movement aimed at encouraging young people to stay the course at school with confidence and motivation.

Quelques exemples:
- Invite a speaker: an artist, a leader, a professional, an adult with an atypical path ;
- Give certificates of achievement ;
- Invite young people to choose a challenge ! ;
- Organize a parent-child reading activity.
- Recognize the efforts of young people and share them with their parents.
- Propose a coffee-talk or a day of reflection on a theme related to perseverance.
- Promote the return to training of adult students.
- Write an article for a newspaper or produce a video clip presenting testimonials or information on the benefits of perseverance
- Take advantage of the JPS to announce a promising initiative in school perseverance or to publicize the values and policies of your organization that support school perseverance.
